Job description

Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator

Job Summary

The Senior SQL Server DBA manages, maintains, patches, and secures Client's clustered and standalone Microsoft SQL Server database instances. This role ensures that data interfaces smoothly with application platforms and enterprise warehouses while maintaining optimal data-at-rest encryption protocols.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Experience: More than 5 years of experience conducting SQL Server database administration.


Critical Tool Stack & Technologies

  • Architecture Expertise: Extensive experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases in standalone and clustered architectures across Windows on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Database Operations: SQL Server backup/recovery, failover cluster configuration, database job scheduling, and pro-active system monitoring.
  • Development & Analytics: Strong Transact-SQL (T-SQL), performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
  • SQL Server Suite: SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
  • Platform Preferences: Direct experience with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 on Windows, as well as MySQL on Ubuntu, is highly preferred.
