The senior claims specialist exemplifies a partner-positive approach to Workers' Compensation by providing compassionate, high-quality support to injured partners. As a senior claims specialist, you will...
• Administer a portfolio of workers' compensation claims and provide strategic direction to third party administrators to ensure Starbucks' workers' compensation program delivers:
-prompt and appropriate medical treatment,
-timely wage- loss payments and other required financial benefits,
-opportunities for early and sustainable return to work,
-comprehensive claim investigation and evaluation,
-effective litigation and legal strategy management,
-compliance with all applicable state jurisdictional regulations,
-appropriate utilization of risk mitigation tools (i.e. Sub Rosa, MSA, etc.).
• Lead interactive discussions with injured partners, store leadership, healthcare providers, and claim stakeholders to identify opportunities for return to work and facilitate temporary modified duty assignments that support recovery and business needs.
• Serve as a trusted advocate for injured partners by balancing empathy, quality, and operational excellence while driving positive claim outcomes.
Basic Qualifications
  • Education(minimum education level, degree or certification necessary):
    • Bachelor?sdegree or equivalent work experience and skills
  • Skills(minimum skills required):
    • Communicateclearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Negotiateand work effectively with customers, partners, and claimants.
    • Manage time effectively
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
    • Work effectively in a team environment
    • Maintainconfidential information
    • Sustain consistentand punctual attendance

  • Years ofexperience in specific field or utilizing designated skills (minimum needed tobe qualified):
    • 5 yearseducational and/or work experience in risk management, or claims.
