This nationally recognized Heart & Vascular Institute is a leader in cardiovascular disease prevention, treatment, surgery, and research, providing personalized care to more patients and performing more advanced cardiac procedures than any other cardiac program in Connecticut. The institute operates across a large integrated health system with over 2,800 providers, more than 600 practice locations, and seven acute care hospitals throughout Connecticut, including one of the largest academic and surgical hospitals in the northeast.

Physician - Cardiology
Job Details:
  • System Medical Director, Cardiac Imaging Integration role within a nationally recognized Heart & Vascular Institute
  • Focus on delivering superb clinical care to a diverse, medically complex patient population in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Coordinate the strategic direction, operational efficiency, and clinical quality of all cardiac imaging services including Echocardiography, Nuclear, SPECT CT, PET CT, CT, and MRI
  • Report to HVI SVP of Operations and HVI Physicians-in-Chief
  • Execute a comprehensive strategic plan for cardiac imaging services aligned with system-wide access, affordability, equity, and excellence goals
  • Perform complex advanced cardiac imaging procedures, interpret results, and provide expert consultation to referring physicians
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders and regional radiology partners to optimize patient care for cardiac CT and cardiac MRI
  • Promote evidence-based practices and establish safe and effective standards for cardiac imaging services
  • Identify, develop, and actualize opportunities for program growth and innovation across the system
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives in partnership with cardiology, radiology, and system quality teams
  • Optimize workflows and throughput between cardiology and radiology specialties
  • Demonstrate systems thinking by recognizing and addressing patient population and staff concerns while promoting a culture of safety
  • Board certified in Cardiology with multi-modality imaging certification required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with a proven record in a leadership role required
  • Significant experience and training in echocardiography, MRI, CT, and/or Nuclear Cardiology required
