Description
SHINE SPECT is seeking a Facilities Engineer who will be responsible for providing onsite support for the equipment and facilities infrastructure. The Facilities Engineer will manage, maintain, and optimize a facility's physical infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This position will report in to the Team Lead of Facilities and Maintenance.
The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$130,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
This position is based in Massachusetts and requires presence on-site five days per week.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations of the Facilities Engineer:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages building systems to ensure optimal operations and performance while supporting and responding to building related disruptions.
  • Understand HVAC drawings and mechanical equipment
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for all Mechanical, Electrical Plumbing (MEP) projects and systems. Manages and monitors consultants and vendors for compliance.??
  • Applies engineering expertise to evaluate and trouble shoot the performance of critical infrastructure systems and equipment.
  • Evaluates existing and emerging equipment for upgrades or replacement of existing systems.
  • Work with service vendors and equipment owners for calibrations, equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance and modifications
  • Interfaces with building management for all building related activities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of building systems to minimize downtime.
  • Knowledgeable in HEPA certification programs
  • Manages Pest Control vendor performing quarterly trend reviews and program corrections as identified by the vendor
  • Knowledgeable in SOP writing and development
  • Support all facilities, activities and responsibilities to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment

Requirements
  • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5-8 years of progressive facilities engineering experience with mechanical, laboratory and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated facilities engineering experience in biotech or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience with building alarm systems and computerized asset management
  • Familiar with Standard Operating Procedures, document control, deviations, Corrective and Preventative Actions
  • Experience with HEPA testing and pest control programs
  • Familiar with cGMP requirements for pharmaceutical manufacturing and GMP processing equipment
  • Understanding and ability to apply ASTM E2500
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.
  • Strong project manager with the ability to manage numerous issues simultaneously
  • Self-starter with excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
