Sr. Software Engineer
The Sr. Software Engineer on the Digital Manufacturing Team is responsible for defining the tools, processes, and knowledge to enhance the effectiveness of Allegion's digital product development teams. This position is fundamental to Allegion Hollow Metal Digital transformation and will approach all aspects of software delivery by identifying, designing, and delivering innovative solutions. The Sr. Software Engineer will approach business problems with a mindset balancing delivery of objectives with the non-functional requirements of the overall platform. Primarily the Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for fostering quality design and development, cross team alignment, and the maturity of technical solutions and the SDLC. Because of the close interaction with business customers, the Sr. Software Engineer role requires an understanding of requirements analysis, cross team collaboration, and developer support.

What You Will Do:
  • Mentor other Software Engineers and technical individuals
  • Design, implement, and support robust integrations across manufacturing and enterprise systems, including ERP, MES, SCADA, PLM, etc. using standard methodologies across the team
  • Develop and maintain APIs to support seamless data flow between CAD/CAM software, MES platforms, and other critical business applications.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools and technologies to enhance SDLC, including accelerating code generation, debugging, troubleshooting, and drafting technical documentation.
  • Advocate for the implementation and utilization of best practices across the group
  • Advise product teams on solution and data architectures with a mindset balancing delivery of business objectives with the non-functional requirements of the overall architecture
  • Identify technical and security risk in projects and products and develop strategies to alleviate it
  • Communicate technical architecture direction and how it relates to business objectives to all levels of the group through documentation, training, and awareness.
  • Deliver technical solutions for projects leveraging agile project management methodologies
  • Advocate for security and data privacy of all applications and data storage
  • Support innovation through creative application of tools and methods to software and infrastructure architecture, design, and development
  • Analyze existing business processes and software for potential design improvements
  • Work with the IT team, business functions, external vendors, and contract resources to deliver project requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Strengthen the relationship between the product, design, security, DevOps, infrastructure, legal and development teams
  • Up to 25% travel required

What You Need to Succeed:
  • 7+ years of experience in the design, development, implementation, and integration of Enterprise applications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Current experience in .Net tech Stack such as C#, .Net Core and Azure services.
  • A passion for technology and willingness to explore and adopt new technologies for practical business purposes
  • A positive attitude working with an agile team to develop innovative technical solutions built on a secure foundation that enable business growth, more reliable customer interactions, and improved customer satisfaction
  • Be apt at understanding new business domains and be creative and thoughtful about applying technology to improve processes and issues
  • Ability to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions with an eye to how they could be implemented at scale
  • Mentor and share knowledge across the Allegion IT Teams.
  • Verbal and written communication, with various team members in roles that are both technical and non-technical particularly to give direction or present business value of various initiatives to teams
  • Proactively work to coordinate efforts with employees across the group
  • Ability to collaborate with global teams
  • Ability to identify issues, generate solutions, and choose appropriate alternatives
  • Demonstrated knowledge in software and solution architecture
  • Experience integrating digital solutions such as MES with enterprise platforms (such as ERP, SCADA, and PLM)

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
  • The expected Base Salary Range: $115,000.00 - 135,000.00. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
