Job description

This position monitors every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality, making sure that the aircraft delivered software adheres to the standards set by the development company and satisfies regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
โ€ข Minimum of 11 years directly related work experience with aerospace/defense industry software processes (such as RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498, etc.)
โ€ข Experience with government customers projects preferred.
โ€ข Experience with FAA projects preferred.
โ€ข Must demonstrate basic understanding of audit techniques.
โ€ข Must demonstrate basic understanding of software development methods and software testing methods.
โ€ข Must have the ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, contracts that will enable development and review of systems & software processes.
โ€ข Experience in software requirements development.
โ€ข Software design and coding (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded programming languages)
โ€ข Embedded software/hardware verification background or knowledge
โ€ข Effective Communication Skills: Written, Oral, Listening, Presentation, Technical Writing
โ€ข Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
โ€ข Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
โ€ข Must work well in a team environment, have excellent customer interface skills, have effective interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Must quickly come up to speed with the software process auditor work scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestone schedule.
โ€ข Review and approve systems, software and test equipment requirements, design and test documentation for compliance to process requirements and standards.
โ€ข Participate/interface with the engineering counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual and company process requirements and standards.
โ€ข Participate in the software change control process boards
โ€ข Moderate travel may be required to support program activities and auditing software suppliers.
โ€ข Mentor and train junior employees, as required
Education:
โ€ข BS degree required, in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (preferred)
