Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000 DOE

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer in Test

Position Description

The Senior Software Engineer in Test is responsible for design and development of our quality process and test automation initiatives driving resilient, performant and scalable solutions in the energy space.

In this role, you will combine deep software engineering skills with a rigorous approach to quality. You will architect, build and evolve test automation frameworks and pipelines that enable fast, reliable releases. Partners with developers, product management and drive quality-by-design, reducing cycle time and raising the bar on reliability, security and performance across our services.

Job Responsibilities
  • Architect & Build Test Automation: Design robust, maintainable automation frameworks using modern languages and tools. Establish patterns for test data generation, mocks/stubs and environment parity.
  • Lead & Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including company leadership, product management, and other developers, to turn requirements into repeatable business driven testing.
  • Quality Gates & Analytics: Implement quality gates based on quantifiable metrics including defect escape rate, test reliability, and coverage of meaningful layers. Make quality visible to engineering leaders.
  • Mentor & Influence: Coach engineers on testability, design-for-quality and clean code practices while leading test strategy on complex initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 2-5 years of experience in software testing with a demonstrated focus on test automation or quality engineering at scale.
  • Effective Competency in One or More of:
    • UI Automation
    • API/Service Testing
    • Back-End/Service Automation
    • Performance Testing
  • Proficiency in One or More Languages: Rust, JavaScript, Python, C++
  • Preferred/Plus:
    • Solid Understanding of Cloud-Native Architectures (Microservices, Event-Driven, Messaging)
    • Experience with Containerized Deployment Patterns
    • Experience with BDD
    • Experience with Feature Flags and Progressive Delivery
    • Power Industry Experience
