General Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Functional Programming and F# to join our engineering team. This role focuses on designing and building scalable service-based systems, high-performance APIs, and data-driven platforms. The ideal candidate has deep experience with functional programming principles, distributed systems, and modern cloud-native development. You will work closely with architects, product teams, and other engineers to design robust solutions, implement high-quality services, and drive performance and reliability improvements across our platform. This role requires both hands-on engineering excellence and strong architectural thinking, particularly around API design, event-driven systems, and analytics for system performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Software Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using F# and .NET.
  • Apply functional programming concepts such as immutability, pure functions, composition, and domain modeling.
  • Build and maintain service-based APIs and distributed systems.
  • Implement robust data processing and integration pipelines.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following modern software engineering practices.

Architecture & Design
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of scalable service-based platforms.
  • Design RESTful APIs and event-driven services that support high throughput and reliability.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and guide system design decisions.
  • Drive improvements in performance, scalability, observability, and reliability.

Cloud & DevOps
  • Develop and deploy services in AWS environments.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement infrastructure and deployment best practices.

Data & Messaging
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL and SQL-based data models.
  • Implement high-throughput data processing pipelines.
  • Work with message-based architectures such as Kafka or other event streaming systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong experience with .NET ecosystem and F# functional programming.
  • Deep understanding of functional programming concepts
  • Experience building service-oriented or microservices architectures.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases.
  • Experience analyzing and improving system performance and scalability.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Kafka or other event streaming/message passing technologies.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures.
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design (DDD).
  • Experience implementing observability, metrics, and performance analytics.
  • Experience with containerization and cloud-native infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Prior experience working in high-scale distributed systems.
