Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer in support of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC).

This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE

Responsibilities
    Review, prepare, and analyze a variety of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, support and test. Also to include source code, configuration files and engineering resolution support.
  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Acquiring and licensing software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products.
  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
  • Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.
  • Work as a member of an agile software development team. Performing some mix of the below tasks as directed by the government team lead or engineering lead.
    • Elaborate high level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users and government lead engineers.
    • Perform coding tasks for features/functions.
    • Perform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functions.
    • Perform peer design and code reviews with other team members.
    • Perform coding/scripting tasks for software build, packaging and deployment
    • Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility
Certifications: Sec+ CE, or IAM II or DOD 8140 Level II

Education: High School Diploma
Years of Experience: Minimum of 15 years relevant experience to include:

  • 5 years supporting the DoD
  • System analysis and development of system specifications
  • Integrate user community requirements, desired capabilities and characteristics to support injection into the requirements/capability's generation, planning and programming processes and documents
  • Providing technical reviews of design and development specifications of software applications and systems and other engineering artifacts and develop or maintain those artifacts as required in systems engineering process

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Years of Experience: 10 years relevant experience to include:

  • 3 years supporting the DoD
