Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for supporting a Project at our customer location in Hanahan, SC. This position is 100% onsite.
The prospective candidate needs to have extensive experience with Mechanical Engineering but also familiarity with Software Engineering as this prospective candidate will be the focal point of the Engineering Team.

Job Duties
  • Learn the Hardware element of the BFT System including all components for the various platforms as well as their interoperability.
  • Thoroughly understand the Technical Data Package (TDP) of the USMC BFT System and gain an in-depth knowledge of all Project Drawings and Drawing Structure.
  • Knowledgeable in the CAD software applications Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. Also knowledgeable in PLM software and Drawing Storage Systems such as Autodesk Vault.
  • Take the initiative to research and provide updates on new Hardware components for future BFT System capabilities as well as the ability to design future items to support those capabilities.
  • Learn, understand and participate in the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) Process and ultimately develop ECP related documents.
  • Learn, understand and participate in the Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) Process and ultimately develop PCA related documents.
  • As the focal point of the Engineering Team, this individual will have multiple duties and will be required to:
  • Have a familiarity with Software Engineering.
  • Manage a small team of Software Integrators and Testers by assigning work, reporting status updates and communicating with the Government Customer/PMO.
  • Participate in weekly/biweekly meetings and effectively communicate project status to stakeholders. Ability to work well within a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Understand how to capture and report risk across Engineering areas.
  • Participate and vote in monthly Local Change Review Board meetings and Project Management Reviews (PMRs).
  • Compile Weekly Status Reports and Monthly Status Reports for the Team.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics Software Engineer or Computer Science and five (5) years or more experience.
  • Experience in Command, Control, Communications, Computers Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance to include:
    • Systems Analysis.
    • Systems Architecture.
    • Systems/Equipment Support.
    • Test and Evaluation.
    • Logistics support of C4ISR.
  • Experience with support of C4ISR Projects.
Required Security Clearance
  • No clearance required to start, must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
