Job description

Company: Jones Capital
Position: IT Customer Support Specialist 2
Location: Hattiesburg, MS
Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Position Overview

Jones Capital is seeking a Microsoft 365-native IT professional to serve as our IT Customer Support Specialist 2. We run an entirely cloud-native environment built on Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure, and we need someone who lives in that stack daily.
The right candidate will carry hands-on depth across the M365 ecosystem: tenant administration, identity governance, endpoint management, compliance tooling, and cross-platform integration. Relevant Microsoft certifications are strongly preferred and will be weighted heavily in the selection process. Candidates without certifications must demonstrate equivalent breadth through verifiable, hands-on experience.

Microsoft Certifications - Strongly Preferred

One or more of the following certifications are considered near-requirements. Candidates holding these will receive priority consideration:

•    MS-102
•    MD-102
•    AZ-104
•    SC-300
•    MS-700
•    AZ-305
•    SC-100
Candidates without certifications must demonstrate 5+ years of hands-on M365 tenant administration, Entra ID/Azure AD management, and Intune endpoint management at a comparable depth.

Duties & Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Administration

•    Administer Exchange Online: mailboxes, mail flow rules, connectors, anti-spam/anti-phishing policies, message tracing
•    Manage Teams administration: policies, channels, meeting settings, telephony/Teams Rooms where applicable
•    Administer SharePoint Online and OneDrive: site provisioning, permissions, external sharing policies, storage management
•    Manage Microsoft 365 licensing across users and groups; enforce license governance policies
•    Operate Microsoft Purview: compliance policies, retention labels, eDiscovery, DLP, Information Protection

Identity & Access Management

•    Administer Entra ID (Azure AD): user and group lifecycle, dynamic groups, B2B guest access
•    Configure and enforce Conditional Access policies; troubleshoot authentication failures across policy conditions
•    Manage MFA, SSPR, and Password less/Windows Hello for Business deployments
•    Administer app registrations and enterprise applications; configure SSO (SAML/OIDC) for SaaS integrations
•    Monitor Entra ID sign-in and audit logs; investigate anomalies and respond to Identity Protection alerts

Endpoint Management (Intune / MEM)

•    Manage Windows and macOS devices through Intune: enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies
•    Deploy and maintain Win32 and MSIX application packages via Intune; troubleshoot deployment failures
•    Configure and enforce update rings, BitLocker encryption, and endpoint security baselines
•    Conduct hardware/software inventory and remediate non-compliant devices

Advanced Technical Support

•    Serve as escalation point from Tier 1; resolve complex incidents within SLA with full documentation
•    Perform root cause analysis and engineer durable solutions to prevent recurrence
•    Support multi-tenant MSP environment: maintain context separation, tenant-specific configurations, and cross-org policy consistency
•    Contribute to and maintain internal knowledge base with resolution patterns and runbooks

Automation & Integration

•    Support Microsoft 365 integration projects including third-party SSO migrations, eDiscovery workflows, and bulk provisioning
•    Assist with Power Automate flows and integration touchpoints affecting M365 services

Qualifications

Required

•    3–7 years of experience in IT support with a demonstrated focus on Microsoft 365 administration
•    Hands-on experience managing Entra ID / Azure AD at a tenant admin level — not just end-user operations
•    Proven Intune endpoint management experience across enrollment, policy configuration, and app deployment
•    Experience administering Exchange Online beyond basic mailbox management (transport rules, connectors, Defender policies)
•    Familiarity with Microsoft Purview compliance tooling: eDiscovery, retention, DLP
•    Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to document complex procedures clearly
•    Strong work ethics aligned with Jones Capital's core values

Preferred

•    One or more active Microsoft certifications (MS-102, MD-102, SC-400, AZ-104, or equivalent)
•    Experience in an MSP environment managing multiple tenants simultaneously
•    Exposure to Meraki network administration (switching, VLANs, wireless, firewall policies)
•    Experience with automation tooling: PowerShell scripting, n8n, Power Automate, or Graph API
•    Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

Key Competencies

•    Systems thinker: you connect the dots across identity, device, application, and data layers
•    Ownership mentality: you close the loop on issues rather than passing them along
•    Detail-oriented: configurations matter, you verify before you ship
•    Collaborative: you communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and with senior engineers
•    Adaptable: our environment evolves; you stay current on M365 roadmap and apply updates proactively
