Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET)

📍 Smithfield, Rhode Island (Primary Location)

🔎 The Role

Fidelity TalentSource is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to help drive automation and ensure product quality across our platforms. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated test suites and frameworks while collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and business partners.

We’re looking for a highly motivated engineer who brings a software engineering mindset to testing, with a passion for innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.

💰 Pay Rate

$56.14 – $120.00 per hour

Final compensation will depend on skills, experience, location, and scope of the role.


🧠 The Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in UI and API automation testing
  • Proven experience building automation frameworks using Playwright and/or Cypress
  • Strong coding experience with TypeScript and/or JavaScript and Cucumber (BDD)
  • Expertise testing Angular/Vue UIs and REST APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
  • Experience troubleshooting across the full stack using automated and manual testing
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, uDeploy)
  • Knowledge of code quality tools (e.g., Sonar, Sealights) is a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, and reusable automation artifacts
  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed environments
  • Interest in learning modern technologies and approaches
  • Experience with accessibility testing is preferred
