Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Regulatory Technology team. This individual will collaborate with development team members to design, build, and support scalable, resilient systems that meet business needs. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python and Java development, cloud technologies, system integration, and modern software engineering practices. The candidate must be a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
This individual will provide technical leadership, production support, solution design, and engineering oversight while partnering closely with business, operations, and compliance stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Author architecture, technical design, and support documentation while ensuring adherence to established code-quality standards.
  • Design and develop scalable, enterprise-grade applications, primarily using Python and related technologies.
  • Lead technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance across initiatives, ensuring solutions follow approved methods and engineering standards.
  • Evaluate and leverage modern AI-assisted development tools and intelligent automation solutions to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Build REST APIs, microservices, and data integration solutions.
  • Design, deploy, and support cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Enhance existing systems by introducing new functionality and continuous improvements.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, resiliency, and security.
  • Provide hands-on support for business-critical production systems, lead root-cause analysis efforts, and drive resolution of high-priority incidents within tight regulatory and operational timelines.
  • Coordinate with IT teams on infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Mentor junior developers and promote software engineering best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and design guidance across initiatives.
  • Influence technology direction and engineering standards within the organization.
  • Mentor developers and consultants while promoting sustainable engineering practices and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience designing and building backend systems using Python, Java, TypeScript, and other enterprise technologies.
  • 7+ years of experience with frameworks and libraries such as FastAPI, Spring, React, or comparable technologies.
  • Advanced Python expertise and working knowledge of Java and TypeScript.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Working experience with tools and platforms such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, Docker, AWS, Azure, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and orchestration tools.
  • Exposure AI-driven and agentic software engineering practices.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently on complex issues, apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and quickly learn and adapt.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to support business-critical production environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and design guidance across initiatives.
  • This role requires a strong sense of ownership and accountability for a business-critical regulatory platform. The successful candidate must be comfortable balancing project delivery, production support, technical leadership, and stakeholder engagement in a highly regulated environment where system reliability and reporting accuracy are paramount.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in financial services, regulatory technology, or investment management.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging platforms.

The base salary range for this position is:
USD 80,000 - 150,000
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education.
