You will help build and sustain AI tools that improve New Glenn’s ability to deliver on schedule, successfully fly payloads, and maintain cost discipline.This role centers on the ongoing engineering ownership of an AI assistant deployed enterprise-wide, alongside broader AI and emerging-technology initiatives. The platform understands Blue’s internal data and is in active use across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, with a large and growing user base and a live feedback backlog. You will own the sustaining engineering, feedback triage, and new capability development that keep it accurate and trusted.The successful candidate will work in partnership with senior New Glenn leadership and collaborate with users to prioritize needs and perform tool upgrades, including training, documentation, tool rollout, and support to the team. Strong technical skills, excellent communication, and training skills are necessary for success in this role. We are looking for a self-starter who can work autonomously and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities & Minimum Qualifications:Sustaining Engineering & Platform MaintenanceOwn the recurring maintenance cadence for an internal AI platform, including dependency and model version management, continuous integration health, and release cutsBuild and maintain automated regression coverage for a library of 30+ production AI workflows, establishing test suites where manual verification is the current practice.Monitor and remediate upstream data and schema drift across integrated enterprise systems (design inputs, manufacturing execution, enterprise resource planning, requirements management, and data warehouse), where a silent upstream change can produce confidently incorrect output.Implement and enforce machine-checkable guardrails for accuracy, safety, and data-handling rulesOwn triage, disposition, and closure of a high-volume user feedback queueReport on backlog health, inflow and outflow rates, and quality trends to senior leadership.Capability Development & Technical LeadershipInnovate proactively by proposing new ideas and solutions that leverage AI to solve business problems.Design, build, and release new AI-assisted workflows for engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain users, from requirements through validation and rollout.Conduct rigorous performance testing and fine-tuning of AI models (when necessary) to ensure robustness and scalability.Manage and mentor partner development team(s) providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment to achieve project goals and objectives.Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and analysts to derive insights and drive data-driven decision making.Provide thought leadership on AI strategy and roadmap planning within the organization.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of professional software development experience, with a significant focus on AI and machine learning in production environments.Demonstrated ownership of a production software product through its full sustaining lifecycle, including on-call or user-facing support responsibility.Experience building and operating LLM-based or agentic applications in production, including prompt and context engineering, tool/function calling, retrieval over enterprise data, and evaluation of non-deterministic output.Deep understanding of AI/ML models, algorithms, and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.Proficient with SQL, Python, and Power Query.
