We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Engineer, DER Interconnections to join our team at K&A Power Group in Oakbrook, IL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:

  • Perform power system load flow, stability and transient studies, power system dynamic model development, understanding power system operation and controls. Contribute to multiple project teams to perform technical analysis of electric power system. Prepare proposals based on expressed customer needs. Develop projects with customers; manage contracts to ensure technical, schedule and cost objectives are met; actively participate in identifying and cultivating new customers and business opportunities; lead preparation of proposals; and make customer presentations. Compile results from technical analysis to produce detailed, concise, analytical reports. Document and present project findings and deliverables. Actively participates in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are prized.

What were looking for:

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and three (3) years of experience in electrical engineering industry. Experience must include application of the following: Utility power system studies including system modeling, analysis, and evaluation of DER impacts; Power system planning such as long range planning, load forecasting, and distribution or transmission planning; Power systems protection engineering includes coordination studies, safety assessments, and reliability analysis; Applying circuit theory to design, analyze, and predict electrical circuit behavior in utility or DER applications; Conducting dynamic or transient simulations including inverter based resource behavior, ride through performance, and system response modeling; Applying the National Electric Code (NEC) to DER or distribution system design.

Pay Range $118,040
