The Senior Quality Engineer will lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, business, and manufacturing processes, with an emphasis on eliminating process waste, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing manufacturing performance. This role will utilize structured quality improvement tools, Lean methodologies, and data-driven analysis to optimize processes, eliminate waste, and improve product and process outcomes. The Senior Quality Engineer will design complex new processes, re-engineer existing processes, and implement sustainable process improvements that meet safety, quality, delivery, and business expectations.
YOUR IMPACT
  • Lead continuous improvement of quality control testing, defect detection, defect prevention, and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead resolution of complex quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies while engaging cross-functional teams to implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Mentor and train Quality Inspectors and Quality Analysts in quality engineering principles, Lean methodologies, and process improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively and work cross-functionally with Employee Teams, Quality, Engineering, Global Procurement & Supply Chain (GPSC), Contracts, Sales, and Manufacturing to resolve complex quality-related issues, eliminate process inefficiencies, and improve operational performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across all product platforms, providing versatile technical support.
  • Facilitate quality-led forums with cross-functional teams by providing business impact assessments, risk evaluations, and data-driven recommendations to improve first-pass yield, reduce defects per unit, improve process efficiency, and achieve strategic business objectives.
  • Lead the identification and implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead teams in applying Six Sigma DMAIC methodology and structured problem-solving techniques to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve process capability.
  • Perform process capability studies internally and externally to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and improve process inputs to achieve desired manufacturing and quality outcomes.
  • Improve manufacturing processes to reduce common cause variation, eliminate special cause variation, and improve process stability.
  • Establish control plans and process controls to sustain improvements and prevent process backsliding.
  • Analyze manufacturing process constraints and develop standards and solutions to improve product quality, eliminate waste, and enhance operational performance.
  • Investigate, analyze, and benchmark industry best practices and emerging process improvement methodologies to strengthen manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Implement effective corrective and preventive actions utilizing structured quality planning and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Partner with Global Procurement & Supply Chain to establish purchase specifications, PPAP requirements, receiving inspection strategies, supplier quality audits, and contractual quality requirements.
  • Support new product introductions through process validation, quality planning, and production readiness activities.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of ISO/IATF certifications and compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) or more years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve product, manufacturing, or supplier quality issues.
  • Working knowledge of quality engineering principles, statistical methods, Lean process improvement, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Six Sigma certification and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • Must interpret technical drawings including characteristics such as views, title blocks, dimensioning, GD&T symbols, and specification requirements as they relate to product and process characteristics.
  • Advanced training and/or experience in statistical techniques, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading Lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, reduce waste, and increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Experience utilizing structured problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis through computer applications.
  • Experience with process capability studies, control plans, PFMEA, SPC, and other quality engineering tools.
  • Customer and supplier quality audit experience.

Pay Range:
$73,200.00 - $117,800.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
