The senior level GSE Technician will perform diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance on a wide variety of ground support equipment (GSE). This includes servicing diesel and electric-powered vehicles, hydraulic systems, and electrical control systems.This position requires strong technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems for onsite equipment diagnostics and programming.**Must have previous GSE experience to be considered only.We pay a per diem every night you spend away from home when traveling and all your travel expenses.This is hourly, so we pay overtime as well.YOUR IMPACTWork onsite mainly at Chicago International Airport and provide hands-on service for the following types of equipment:Aircraft tow tractorsContainer loadersAircraft deicersBaggage and cargo transport vehiclesOther airport GSE with ICE or EV platformsDiagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on:Hydraulic systems (including pumps, motors, actuators, and valves)Electrical systems (wiring, fuses, relays, sensors, and control modules)Mechanical systems (suspension, steering, drive assemblies)Interface with PLC systems to upload/download programs, troubleshoot logic, and perform control system adjustmentsCollaborate with dealer technicians via phone/email or on-site for troubleshooting assistanceReview technical documentation, manuals, and schematics to ensure accurate service proceduresMaintain detailed documentation through work order systems; ensure issue resolution and service reportingParticipate in OEM testing and equipment upgrades, as neededProvide end-user product orientation and safe operating procedures at customer sitesMentor or train junior or less-experienced technicians in-field when requiredOther projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretionBASIC QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED and five (5) or more years of relevant experience in machine assembly, light fabrication; or previous relevant contracting experience with Oshkosh Corporation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.Proficient in:Electrical diagnostics and repairMechanical systems and component-level serviceHydraulic diagnostics and repairProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsAbility to work independently with strong problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to obtain a passport if necessaryMust be able to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environmentTravel outside of ORD is between 40-50% of the time.#LI-TM1Pay Range:$73,200.00 - $117,800.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
