Job description

Process Automation Developer
Create scalable Power Platform solutions that optimize food movement at a national scale.
Who We Are:
US Cold owns and operates one of the most complex temperature-controlled logistics networks in North America. Every day, our systems coordinate the storage and movement of food on a national scale across a network of state-of-the-art distribution centers, including multiple highly automated warehouse facilities.
We continue to advance our core warehouse and logistics platforms. Our current focus is on modular, event-driven, API-first and cloud architecture. We continue to enhance reliability and accelerate engineering productivity by strengthening our SRE and AI practices. This is a large investment in innovation to continue to drive operational excellence at our facilities.
If you want to build durable systems that operate in the physical world at scale, this is that opportunity.
The Role
We are hiring a Power Platform Developer to build low-code solutions and automated workflows that streamline and standardize processes across cold storage and temperature-controlled warehouse operations. This role focuses on reducing manual effort, improving data accuracy, increasing process visibility.
You will help modernize the digital and decision-support backbone.
You will build durable, production-grade Power Platform solutions-apps and automations.
You will enable reliable, day-to-day operations by standardizing and automating critical workflows.
What You Will Own
  • Design and development of scalable low-code/no-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Pages.
  • Requirements translation, partnering with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and convert needs into clear technical specifications and application designs.
  • Integrated solution development and customization, ensuring adherence to best practices, performance optimization, platform capabilities, and solution architecture standards.
  • Solution documentation, including technical diagrams, support materials, and training content for implemented solutions.
  • Exception handling, alerting, and auditability for critical operational and compliance-driven processes.
  • Application lifecycle management, including solution packaging, versioning, environment strategy, and deployments across dev, test, and prod environments.
  • Technical leadership and mentorship, supporting and enabling citizen developers across the organization.
  • Governance adherence, ensuring solutions align with established low-code/no-code standards, frameworks, and organizational guidelines.
  • Platform evolution, evaluating emerging low-code/no-code technologies and recommending adoption based on business value and industry trends.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with infrastructure and security teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and performant.
  • Solution quality and reliability, participating in solution reviews, performance tuning, production support, and continuous improvement efforts.

Technical Environment
• Multi-facility, high-availability Warehouse management and logistics systems
• Migration toward cloud-native, event-driven architectures
• Azure cloud-native services
• CI/CD-driven delivery model
• Snowflake for real-time data warehousing
• Power BI for data visualization
• Application of low-code platforms for process automations
• AI mindset with application of data science models for warehouse optimization, routing, consolidation, and capacity planning
What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of experience software development and designing the architecture.
• Hands on experience with designing and developing Power Platform solutions, including model-driven apps, canvas apps, Power Automate flows, Data flows, and Dataverse configuration.
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
• Experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure applications using Power Platform.
• Experience working in managed environments, including solution layering, ALM processes, connection references, and environment variables.
• Understanding of secure Power Platform solution design including environment and Dataverse security roles, DLP policies, and permissions models
• Experience integrating Power Platform with external systems via APIs, connectors, and Azure services.
• Ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into efficient and user-friendly applications.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Helpful Experience
• Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of database platforms such as Snowflake, Postgres, etc.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or Power Platform pipelines.
• Familiarity with licensing models across Power Apps, Power Automate, and emerging tools like Copilot Studio.
• Exposure to AI Builder, Copilot Studio, or generative AI-enhanced app development.
Compensation & Structure
• Location: Hybrid - Greater Philadelphia
• Reports to: IT - Data Engineering
• Travel: Less than 15%
• Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000
Why this role is different
You'll help power live warehouses, moving freight, and real decisions-improving how the business operates every single day.
• You will help modernize the digital and decision-support backbone of a company that moves food at a national scale.
  • You will shape durable, production-grade business intelligence-clear definitions, trusted metrics, and decision frameworks that work under real-world constraints, not slideware or one-off analyses.
The Kind of Problems You'll Solve
• Translating complex warehouse, logistics and operational workflows into scalable Power Platform solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
• Ensuring operational workflows and data used in daily decision-making are reliable, timely, and resilient in environments where uptime matters
