This is a hands-on, customer-facing position for someone who can independently diagnose equipment problems, service field instrumentation, and support control-system commissioning in active operating environments. The person selected for this role will work closely with engineering personnel, project leaders, facility representatives, and other technical specialists.

Assignments may involve water and wastewater infrastructure, manufacturing operations, motion-control equipment, electrical control panels, and other essential production systems. Primary Responsibilities Install, inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair industrial instrumentation and related control equipment. Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, communication, and automation issues in operating facilities.

Support PLCs, operator interfaces, variable-frequency drives, motor controls, industrial networks, and distributed control platforms. Assist with control-panel modifications, field wiring, loop checks, functional testing, startup, and commissioning. Evaluate system requirements and help develop practical control solutions for process and manufacturing applications.

Review electrical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and related engineering documentation. Verify that completed work meets project requirements, safety expectations, schedules, and customer needs. Coordinate technical activities with engineers, project managers, system owners, contractors, and facility personnel.

Clearly document service findings, equipment conditions, corrective actions, and recommended improvements. Troubleshoot energized equipment and live processes using approved safety practices. Required Qualifications At least seven years of hands-on experience involving industrial instrumentation, automation, electrical controls, or process-control systems; candidates with ten or more years are strongly encouraged to apply.

Demonstrated ability to calibrate, diagnose, repair, and validate complex field instruments and control devices. Five or more years of practical experience with motion-control equipment and electrical control-panel design or modification. Experience installing, testing, troubleshooting, or commissioning automated equipment in industrial or process environments.

Working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, HMIs, drives, motor controls, and industrial communications. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, control narratives, and technical specifications. Proven ability to work independently, organize field activities, and make sound technical decisions with limited supervision.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with customers. Ability to work safely around energized electrical equipment and active industrial processes. Availability to work on-site in the greater Orlando area and travel to customer facilities as assignments require.

Preferred Background Instrumentation or controls experience within water or wastewater treatment facilities. Experience supporting automated manufacturing machinery or process-control equipment. Familiarity with Motor Control Centers, variable-frequency drives, servos, and coordinated motion systems.

Exposure to distributed control systems and other plant-wide automation platforms. Experience with industrial robots from manufacturers such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots, or Yaskawa Motoman. Background working for a systems integrator, industrial service provider, or project-based automation organization.

Who May Be a Strong Fit This opportunity may align well with professionals who have worked as a Senior Instrumentation Technician, Controls Technician, Automation Technician, Electrical Controls Technician, or Field Service Technician. The strongest candidates will combine practical instrumentation expertise with independent troubleshooting ability, professional customer communication, and a safety-focused approach to fieldwork.
