The Data Risk Management function focuses on how data behaves in practice-across applications, systems, platforms, analytics and workflows-and whether that usage introduces operational, regulatory or reputational risk.

Data Risk Management evaluates:

  • Data usage across trading, analytics and reporting systems
  • Data flows across internal and external platforms
  • AI/ML model data dependencies and outputs
  • Risks from data aggregation, transformation and replication

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement an enterprise Data Risk Framework covering areas such as data misuse, data quality, data lineage and traceability, data availability, transformation risks, replication risks and AI/ML-related risks.
  • Define and enforce controls and standards across the data usage lifecycle.
  • Partner with Technology to map, monitor and mitigate risks associated with data flows, including identifying high-risk transformation pain points.
  • Establish safeguards around data propagation, duplication, and shadow data usage.
  • Lead risk oversight for AI/ML and advanced analytics, including input integrity, output reliability, and model-data dependencies.
  • Ensure cross-system data integrity, consistency, and effective controls across platforms and data pipelines.
  • Lead data risk incident deep dives, ensuring root cause analysis and prioritization of remediation actions.
  • Embed Data Risk into broader risk frameworks and governance forums, collaborating across operational, technology, and model risk functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in Operational Risk, Data Governance, Data Risk, Model Risk or Technology Risk.
  • Strong exposure to data platforms, analytics, and electronic trading environments; AI/ML or model risk experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience with data architectures, pipelines, AI/ML lifecycle, and trading/technology workflows.
  • Strong ability to synthesize and articulate risks across systems, data flows, and business use cases, with the credibility and influence to challenge senior stakeholders and drive risk-informed decisions.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing risk frameworks and controls.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data standards and data control environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and drive outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex organizations, including building functions, leading cross-functional initiatives and driving pragmatic risk-reduction solutions.
