The team sits within Global Monetization Product and Technology (GMPT) - Business Integrity - Governance. We focus on advertising content quality and user experience, driving governance of risks such as misleading claims, vulgar or disturbing content, and other low-quality content. Our mission is to build a scalable, intelligent, and data-driven risk governance system that achieves the optimal balance between risk control and user/advertiser experience in a highly dynamic global environment. As we evolve, the team is accelerating toward a more platformized, intelligent, and automated governance system, leveraging AI Agents, machine learning models, and strategy frameworks to enable scalable, global impact. About the Role We are looking for a highly analytical and impact-driven Ads Content Risk Strategy Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be deeply involved in safeguarding TikTok's advertising ecosystem by identifying and solving key user experience and content quality challenges through data-driven insights and strategy design. You will operate in a highly complex and global-scale environment, making strategic trade-offs across risk control, user experience, and business growth, while continuously improving the overall health of the advertising ecosystem. You will also contribute to building the next-generation intelligent governance system, leveraging AI, machine learning models, and automation capabilities to transform governance from experience-driven to intelligence-driven at global scale. Responsibilities: Risk Strategy & Metric Ownership - Define and own key risk metrics, including goal decomposition, trend analysis, and root-cause deep dives, and deliver actionable governance strategies with measurable outcomes. - Continuously iterate governance strategies across scenarios such as misleading claims, vulgar or disturbing content and other content quality issues to improve ecosystem integrity and user experience. Data-Driven Strategy Optimization - Leverage data analysis and experimentation (A/B testing, holdout experiments, etc.) to evaluate strategy effectiveness and drive continuous optimization. - Build and enhance data-driven decision-making frameworks to improve transparency, interpretability, and stability of governance strategies. Intelligent Governance & System Building - Apply machine learning models and AI Agent capabilities to improve risk detection, classification, and enforcement efficiency. - Drive the evolution of governance systems toward automation, scalability, and intelligence, including mechanism design and process optimization. Cross-Functional Execution & Strategy Delivery - Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Algorithm teams to translate strategies into scalable product features, rule systems, and model requirements. - Navigate complex trade-offs between risk mitigation, advertiser experience, and platform growth, ensuring optimal overall business outcomes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience in risk control, Trust & Safety, advertising governance, or advertising strategy roles, with proven ownership of key business metrics in complex environments. - Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL; experience in building metric systems, performing root-cause analysis, and conducting experiment-based evaluations (A/B testing, holdout, etc.). - Experience designing user-centric strategies and experiments, with the ability to translate user experience insights into actionable solutions. - Strong cross-functional collaboration and execution skills, capable of driving alignment and delivery under ambiguity and conflicting priorities. - Strong problem structuring and abstraction ability, with experience leveraging ML or automation (e.g., AI Agents) to design systematic solutions. - High proficiency in English and Mandarin listening, speaking, reading and writing. Both English and Mandarin skill sets are required to support clients in China and to communicate with stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: - Deep expertise in specific risk domains such as advertising fraud, low-quality content, or adversarial ecosystem manipulation. - Experience in ad traffic allocation and optimization. - Experience designing or significantly upgrading complex governance systems, including metric frameworks, policy architectures, or end-to-end governance processes (risk detection - strategy/rule design - deployment - monitoring - systemization). - Hands-on or exploratory experience applying AI technologies (LLMs, AI Agents) in content understanding, risk detection, or automated governance systems.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency]Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121600 - $272000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
