Job description

HTI is seeking a highly detail-oriented and technically strong Sr. Design Engineer responsible for the development of new products, as well as supporting design upgrades and updates to existing products and equipment for a global leader in industrial furnace manufacturing in Pineville, NC. This opportunity is with an organization that prides itself on being โ€œpeople focusedโ€ while ensuring a positive and safe environment. This position is Direct Hire, Onsite, M-F 1st shift. The pay range is $90,000 - $105,000 depending on experience.

What You Need:

  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).

  • Engineer high-performance industrial furnace systems, including components operating in extreme high-temperature environments and specialized materials.
  • Design and develop vacuum systems and industrial equipment, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Break down complex assemblies into structured sub-assemblies and detailed components to support production and scalability.
  • Perform and/or validate engineering calculations and analysis (thermal, structural, and fluid systems) to support design decisions.
  • Develop detailed 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to move designs from concept through full execution.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges by digging into details and ensuring all aspects of the design are thoroughly vetted.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by refining existing designs and optimizing system performance.
