Summary of Role:

As an End Market Sr. Manager for Edge and AI Compute, you will help shape GF's strategy for MCU, MPU/NPU, FPGA, and AI-enabled embedded compute applications. This U.S.-based role focuses on where GF should win, which customers and applications to prioritize, and what technology capabilities are needed to support growth in areas such as industrial edge AI, smart home, robotics, physical AI, vision systems, and connected devices.

The role requires a strong mix of semiconductor market knowledge, customer engagement, and technical judgment-especially around how MCU and AI processor requirements translate into process choices for power, performance, cost, memory, connectivity, and integration.

You will report to the Vice President of the Home & Industrial IoT End Market at GlobalFoundries.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own the End Market strategy for Edge and AI Compute, with examples including MCU, MPU/NPU, FPGA, AI co-processors, embedded vision, sensor fusion, and physical AI applications.
  • Build a clear market view of where GF should hunt, including priority applications, key customers, value-chain players, market size, competitive position, and growth opportunities.
  • Translate customer and application needs into technology requirements; examples include low-power operation, SRAM and embedded memory needs, RF/connectivity, security, mixed-signal integration, and cost targets.
  • Support priority design-win opportunities by helping Sales and Product Lines position GF's value in relevant customer engagements.
  • Develop practical customer and market collateral, such as "Why GF" slides, application examples, competitive positioning, and repeatable selling plays.
  • Create and maintain Market Requirements Documents that clearly explain what GF needs to build or improve to win in selected Edge and AI Compute applications.
  • Partner with Sales, Product Management, Technology Development, Design Enablement, and Business Intelligence to turn market insight into funnel growth, design wins, and tape-out revenue.
  • Drive engagement and penetration at new and under-served customers by building strategic relationships with technical, business, and procurement decision-makers across the value chain, positioning GF early in customer roadmaps, technology selections, and design-win opportunities.
  • Monitor competitive technology, architecture, and ecosystem trends in areas such as Edge AI, Physical AI, robotics, vision processing, embedded memory, connectivity and security translating insights into actionable business opportunities and roadmap recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a bottoms-up view of the Edge & AI Compute opportunity landscape, including SAM analysis by application, device, and customer segment

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in semiconductor product management, technical marketing, business development, strategy, systems engineering, or customer-facing technical roles.
  • Strong knowledge of MCU, MPU/NPU, FPGA, edge AI, or embedded compute markets, including relevant customers, applications, and competitors.
  • Ability to connect application requirements to process and platform choices; examples include power, performance, memory, RF/connectivity, security, integration, and cost.
  • Demonstrated ability to build market models, customer opportunity maps, competitive assessments, business cases, and executive-ready recommendations.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work across global Sales, Product Lines, Technology Development, Design Enablement, Business Intelligence, and executive stakeholders.
