Position: Senior DAS Performance Engineer

Location: New York City

Duration: Long Term Contract or Full-Time 

Required Skills:-

The ideal candidate will...

Possess a willingness to travel

Possess in-depth experience with deploying and optimizing wireless outdoor and indoor DAS networks (passive and active distribution)

Understand radio wave propagation theory

Understand differentiators between CDMA, WCDMA, GSM, EDGE, GPRS, TDMA, iDEN, LTE, WiFi, WiMax and other protocols

Possess extensive knowledge of radio planning, optimization and technologies (2G-4G+)

as well as:

Willingness to travel when needed.

Demonstrated experience on a minimum of two indoor active DAS platforms such as TE/Tyco, Corning/Mobile Access, SOLiD, Commscope/Andrews. Vendor certification preferred.

A working experience on at least two RF technologies - GSM/UMTS/CDMA/EVDO/LTE

Worked on one or more industry acceptable performance data management tools, drive test tools and other optimization tools.

Ideally to be proficient with JDSU/HP Agilent Drive Test tool suite (E6474A), Gladiator, and iBwave.

Demonstrated ability to develop training sessions, mentor junior engineers and take a lead role on medium to large projects.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of common RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators

Understanding of equipment co-location requirements for multiple operators;

Understanding of Frequency, Control Channel BCC planning and/or PN planning;

Understanding of Indoor and Outdoor RF system design and propagation modeling;

Understanding of Link budgets as it relates to systems dimensioning and performance.

Understanding of Co-channel and adjacent channel interference testing and analysis;

Ability to interpret both electrical and mechanical blueprints

Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and five + years experience. Possess a working knowledge of radio frequency propagation.
