The Opportunity

We’re building a nationwide sales organization to accelerate TP-Link’s growth across the U.S. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll serve as the trusted technical advisor, partnering closely with Regional Sales Managers to design solutions, shape strategy, and win with the Omada Networks portfolio. You’ll engage across key verticals—including Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), Hospitality Service Providers (HSPs), Retail, and Enterprise—delivering tailored architectures, competitive positioning, and hands-on support that drive revenue and customer success.

What You’ll Do
  • Represent TP‑Link’s end-to-end portfolio: wired, wireless (Wi‑Fi 6/7), cloud management, security, surveillance, and automation/telemetry solutions.
  • Own technical sales motions end-to-end: discovery, architecture/design, RF planning (passive/active), predictive heatmaps, BOMs, proposals, demos/POCs, competitive bake-offs, and TCO/ROI positioning.
  • Design secure, scalable networking solutions including routing, switching, QoS, segmentation, and WLAN security for indoor/outdoor deployments.
  • Build and grow relationships with key channel partners, MSPs, MDUs, HSPs, Retail, Enterprise, and SLED accounts; deliver technical enablement and training.
  • Deliver engaging executive presentations and deep-dive workshops to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C‑level decision makers.
  • Identify new opportunities and expansion across verticals; contribute to territory account plans and competitive differentiation strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and lead complex issue resolution during evaluations and pilots; drive technical wins to close.
  • Contribute to technical content (playbooks, whitepapers, webinars) and present at tradeshows, seminars, and partner events.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to represent customer requirements and influence roadmap.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 8–10+ years (Senior/Sr.) of customer-facing pre-sales engineering or equivalent design/architecture experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with routing, switching, and enterprise Wi‑Fi; ability to conduct site surveys, design best‑practice WLANs, and optimize performance.
  • Technical aptitude across IP networking, wireless, software solutions, and competitive offerings; proven ability to run POCs and demos independently.
  • Consistent record of meeting/exceeding goals by influencing technical decisions and displacing competition.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
  • Knowledge of IT solutions such as networking, cloud computing, hardware, and software; strong troubleshooting/problem-resolution skills.
  • Self-starter with strong teamwork, territory ownership, and sales process discipline; proficient with CRM fundamentals.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within territory up to 50–60%.
Advantageous Skills & Experience
  • Industry certifications (preferred): Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, Juniper JNCIA, Aruba Certified, RUCKUS RCNI/RCWA, CWNA, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of Wi‑Fi and RF: 802.11 standards; Wi‑Fi 5/6/6E/7; antenna propagation; Ekahau/Hamina; WLAN security; packet capture/analysis.
  • Routing/Switching/WAN: IPv4/IPv6, OSPF/IS‑IS/BGP, VRRP, L2 Tunneling (VXLAN/GRE), PIM; QoS; VLANs.
  • Security/SASE: authentication (RADIUS/AD), IDS/IPS, secure device/user onboarding.
  • Automation/Telemetry: NETCONF/REST, YANG/OpenConfig, gRPC; management/assurance platforms.
  • Scripting/DevOps: Python, Ansible; Linux; containers (Docker/Kubernetes).

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience
  • A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Background in Networking; Certifications related to networking can be advantageous.
  • Travel to the client's location to propose solutions or conduct training when needed.
  • Must possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex technical details to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and CRM/Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Must reside in the NE region of the US to cover this territory (NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT & ME)

Salary: $150K - $175K

(This role includes a base salary and a results‑driven, competitive commission plan. Total on‑target earnings (OTE) are structured as 75% base pay with 25% variable compensation, with additional upside for over‑performance).
