Job description

Title: Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer
Location:Chicago, IL (Ravenswood area)
Hire Type: Long Term Contract (1+ year)
Compensation: $45-55/hr

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of innovative products in a fast-paced engineering environment. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical product design experience. Experience with injection-molded components is preferred, but candidates with a solid background in mechanical design and product development will also be considered.


Job Duties:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and design improvements
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering change activities
  • Ensure designs are manufacturable, reliable, and cost-effective

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience
  • Strong CAD and product development experience
  • Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes
  • Injection molding experience preferred
