Chenega Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to join our Finance organization in Anchorage, Alaska. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to lead enterprise-wide indirect tax compliance, provide strategic tax guidance, and influence business decisions across a diverse portfolio of companies.

Responsibilities

As the Senior Manager, Indirect Tax, you will serve as a key advisor on state and local indirect tax matters while leading compliance and risk management activities across multiple jurisdictions. You will:

  • Interpret and apply complex tax regulations and determine appropriate tax treatment for transactions.
  • Resolve challenging tax issues and develop practical risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage responses to tax notices, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Provide expert guidance to finance, accounting, and operational leaders on indirect tax matters.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and translate requirements into actionable business guidance.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and internal control enhancements.
  • Ensure audit readiness through effective documentation and compliance practices.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities by assessing indirect tax implications.
Qualifications What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Active CPA license.
  • 5+ years of progressive corporate tax compliance and/or financial reporting experience in public accounting or industry.
  • Ability to successfully pass background and drug screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Master's degree in Accounting.
  • State and local indirect tax compliance experience.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-entity organizations.
