What this job involves:

Join us as Vice President, Cost Managementand lead the strategic transformation of our cost management services in Western Canada. In this pivotal senior leadership role, you'll spearhead innovative cost management, risk mitigation, and schedule optimization initiatives that directly impact our bottom line and client success. You'll have the exciting opportunity to build and grow a high-performing department through strategic client partnerships, new business development, and assembling a world-class team. We're seeking a dynamic leader who combines sharp analytical expertise with outstanding communication skills and thrives in our fast-paced, results-driven environment. Your deep construction knowledge and finger on the pulse of industry innovations will position you at the forefront of shaping the future of cost management services.

This role will be based out of a JLL office (Vancouver or Calgary) with travel to client sites and some flexibility to work from home.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Drive project excellenceby leading controls for multiple complex, large-scale engagements simultaneously

Shape project outcomesthrough detailed cost estimation from concept to completion and strategic value engineering

Navigate market dynamicsby analyzing local pricing trends and conducting comprehensive market studies

Mitigate risks proactivelyby identifying potential project threats and implementing strategic solutions

Lead stakeholder engagementthrough compelling presentations and transparent progress reporting

Oversee financial accuracyvia bid analysis, change order reviews, and contractor reconciliations

Build and mentor teamsthrough strategic recruitment, hiring, and workforce development

Expand our footprintby strengthening client relationships and generating new business opportunities

Innovate continuouslyby implementing best practices and staying ahead of industry trends

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Aggregates and translates outputs into marketable deliverables (e.g. Case Studies, White Papers and quarterly metrics.)
  • Ability to generate design stage cost evaluations; Capable of working conceptually and qualifying unknowns; expertise in estimating software and benchmarking tools
  • Knowledge of lender services/loan monitoring reporting.
  • Conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within project cost management.
  • Demonstrated competence in performing structured work assignments.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
  • Ability to receive instruction, guidance, and direction from more senior-level roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with team members, clients and executives alike.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years as an Estimator, Cost Manager or similar role.
  • Knowledge of Cost-X, On-Screen Takeoff or other similar estimating or cost management software.
  • Professional certification (e.g., AACE, RICS, CIQS).

Estimated compensation for this position:

185,000.00 - 220,000.00 CAD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
