Senior F5 Engineer - Long Term Project - Remote (PT)
Title: Senior F5 Engineer 
Location: Remote, prefer candidates based in Scottsdale, Chicago or San Francisco  
Duration: 6+ months long term project

Job Description
Seeking a highly experienced Senior F5 Engineer to lead the planning, migration, and upgrade of F5 infrastructure, including transitioning from F5 iSeries appliances to rSeries platforms and executing a secure and scalable F5 VPN solution upgrade. This role requires deep expertise in BIG-IP, TMOS, SSL VPN (APM), and modern F5 hardware/software architectures.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP platforms and proven experience with iSeries to rSeries hardware migration, F5 APM VPN deployments and upgrades. Need to have strong knowledge of LTM, APM, SSL/TLS, DNS, HTTP/S, F5OS and tenant architecture (rSeries)
  • Experience with high availability configurations (Active/Standby, Sync-Failover)
  • Expert-level F5 BIG-IP administration, architecture, and troubleshooting, including LTM and TMOS.
  • Experience designing and executing F5 i-Series to R-Series migrations and platform modernization projects.
  • F5 Access Policy Manager (APM) expertise, including VPN design, implementation, and support.
  • High Availability (HA), Active/Active, disaster recovery, and application resiliency architecture design.
  • Global Traffic Manager (GTM) / BIG-IP DNS design, configuration, and traffic management experience.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/SSL, and certificate management.
  • Experience deploying and configuring the F5 Application Study Tool and performing application dependency analysis.
  • Ability to perform solution design, implementation planning, testing, migration support, and production cutover activities.
  • Experience producing technical documentation, operational runbooks, and conducting knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Preferred: Experience with F5 SSL Orchestrator (SSLO), Advanced WAF, automation tools (Ansible/Terraform), and F5 professional certifications (F5-CA, CTS, or CSE).
