a joint venture of multiple subsidiaries of the VINCI Group, construction worldwide leader, specialized in the design and construction of major civil engineering and building works in Canada is hiring an


                                                                                          Senior QC Coordinator


What is the project?


The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep-water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve:


  • A5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.5 m diameter slurry TBM);
  • Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore);
  • An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.


The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.


What you will do:


Reporting to the Quality Director, the Senior QC Coordinator ensures the organization of the on-site quality control system and its handover while coordinating on-site inspections and tests. They oversee the implementation of regulations, contract requirements and the project’s integrated management system. 


Concretely, your tasks will be:


Quality Management & Compliance 

  • Organize the on-site Quality Control system and its handover; 
  • Coordinate inspections, tests, and compliance with ITPs and WMS; ensure traceability and accuracy of results; 
  • Oversee the implementation of the regulations, contract requirements and the project’s integrated management system on the site according to internal procedures; 
  • Assist and coordinate with the construction team; 
  • Coordinate third party inspectors and third part testing companies; 
  • Monitor non-conformities, validate corrective actions, and supervise external lab tests; 
  • Constantly monitor the Quality inspection and test activities on site and communicates with various team on the project (Construction, Design etc.). 


Audits & IMS 

  • Plan and coordinate internal and subcontractor audits; ensure timely reporting and closure of findings; 
  • Maintain the IMS schedule and organize process inductions; develop Toolbox Talks, best practices, and quick tips. 

NCR/CA & ETF 

  • Oversee NCR/CA processes in ACONEX; ensure the completeness and accuracy of registers and dashboards; 
  • Coordinate the defining of the list of ETFs with the Execution team while providing guidance and methodology; 
  • Provide training and support for NCR/CA and ETF processes; monitor analysis and follow up on progress. 


Material & Equipment 

  • Review Material Approval Requests (MAR) and ensure compliance; 
  • Verify calibration and readiness of measuring equipment for site, survey, and lab operations. 


Reporting & Coordination 

  • Liaise with QHSE teams; ensure Quality information is available on site; 
  • Issue Quality reports, define best practices, and communicate quality alerts across the organization; 
  • Suspend the execution of the work immediately if the safety of persons or the environment is endangered, or if a critical factor is identified that could affect the final quality of the work; 
  • Support as-built documentation and final evaluation reports according to project progress. 


Your skills: 

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil engineering, or a related field; 
  • 15 years of experience in Quality Control on major projects; 
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and QHSE regulations applicable to large construction projects; 
  • Heightened ability to conduct inspections, tests, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards; 
  • Solid technical understanding; 
  • Heightened knowledge of MS Office and ACONEX 
  • Strong English communication skills, verbal and written; 
  • Good capacity to monitor the implementation of QHSE procedures; 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations; 
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to a variety of situations.
