General Summary

Develop and maintain systems that enhance the utility of the Institutional Research and Information Management (IRIM) data warehouse. Develop and maintain online and automated reporting facilities. Provide statistical support and enrollment forecasting. Collect and audit primary and secondary data sources to assure accuracy of data for analysis.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage web-based interfaces and procedures that provide access data in the data warehouse.
  • Provide expert design and Web development for IRIM.
  • Project management, design and testing of systems within a data warehouse environment. Provide database administration management & support.
  • Manage and design online templates for academic program review.
  • Compile and manage complex data sets and other information in support of institutional studies.
    • Identify, gather, analyze, and organize institutional data to provide accurate and timely information.
    • Prepare student/faculty/enrollment annual reports.
    • Analyze and report data from the data warehouse when responding to ad hoc information requests.
    • Respond to information requests from governmental, private and public institutions and internal sources.
    • Work with the IRIM team to develop online reports for the data warehouse.
  • Provide assistance to IRIM in identifying appropriate data collection to ensure reliable, appropriate, and legal use of institutional information.
  • Perform related departmental duties as required, and upon the request of the Assistant Vice President and Executive Director of Institutional Research and Information Management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of quantitative and analytical process, including information systems, typically acquired through the completion of a Master's Degree in computer science, management information systems or related field or a combination of formal education and experience is necessary.
Proven proficiency in statistical analyses and in the use of SPSS or SAS software is required.
Advanced skills in the design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative research typically acquired through at least five years progressively more responsible and complex experience is required.
Familiarity with UNIX operating system, Oracle database and industry-standard web application development tools, such as PHP, is required.
Experience using Microsoft Access, relational databases and/or visual basic programming is required.
Demonstrated experience with data base management systems and concepts is preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and with attention to detail, and meet deadlines is essential. Strong written and oral communication skills are mandatory.
