What is a senior Python full stack developer?

Senior Python Full Stack Developers are experienced software engineers who specialize in both frontend and backend web development using Python and related technologies. They are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex web applications, often leading teams and making architectural decisions. Their expertise typically includes frameworks like Django or Flask for backend development, as well as JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular for the frontend. In addition to coding, they often mentor junior developers and ensure best practices in software development. Their role requires a deep understanding of databases, APIs, deployment processes, and modern development workflows.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior Python full stack developer?

To thrive as a Senior Python Full Stack Developer, you need advanced proficiency in Python, JavaScript frameworks (such as React or Angular), database management, and a solid understanding of both front-end and back-end development principles, often backed by a degree in computer science or related experience. Familiarity with tools like Django or Flask, RESTful APIs, version control systems (e.g., Git), and cloud platforms is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and the ability to mentor junior developers are standout soft skills for this role. These skills ensure robust, scalable applications and foster effective collaboration across technical teams, driving project success.

For this opportunity, you're a great fit if you can...

  • Design, build, and maintain QuickBase applications, including tables, pipelines, formulas, and REST API integrations

  • Develop HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code pages within QuickBase for internal tools and customer-facing portals

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards with data models, DAX measures, and program reporting visuals

  • Manage and triage incoming development tickets, resolving simpler requests independently and supporting scoping and requirements gathering for more complex work

  • Collaborate with program teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, including CRM-style workflows and system enhancements

  • Support system integrations and data workflows, including APIs, SFTP feeds, and automation pipelines

  • Troubleshoot application and data issues, contributing to documentation and continuous improvement across systems

In this exciting career opportunity, you will have...

  • Experience with QuickBase (or similar low-code platforms) and understanding of application architecture

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development

  • Experience with Power BI and data visualization/reporting tools

  • Understanding of CRM systems and workflows, with the ability to build and enhance system processes

  • Exposure to full-stack development concepts, including APIs and integrations

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage work through a ticketing-based workflow

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams

  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Bonus: Experience with program management, energy efficiency programs, or enterprise system support
