If you are driven to do more and love the challenge of pursuing more, Athene is your kind of company. You will find we offer more than the basics to create an inclusive and dynamic work environment at our various locations.
Purpose:
Athene is accelerating its AI initiatives by hiring multiple AI Engineers to transform how we serve customers, agents, and business partners. We're seeking a Full-Stack AI Engineer to help scale our next-generation AI capabilities across sales, marketing, finance, risk management, product development, claims, and enterprise productivity. You'll join a small, cross-functional team building AI-native solutions from the ground up-rapidly prototyping, experimenting with new capabilities, and moving fast from concept to production.
This is a high-impact role where you'll collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers in a maker-driven environment. You'll work hands-on with Generative AI and intelligent agents, both in the features we deliver and in your daily development workflow.
Accountabilities:
  • Build, deploy, and optimize full-stack AI-powered applications using LLMs, intelligent agents, and ML.
  • Design and scale RAG pipelines, vector search systems, and LLM evaluation workflows.
  • Create AI agents with frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, LlamaIndex, or LangGraph.
  • Ingest and process unstructured/structured data (parsing, chunking, embeddings, retrieval).
  • Develop intuitive user experiences powered by LLMs and AI agents for real-time workflows.
  • Integrate enterprise AI tools such as Claude, GPT-4/4o, ChatGPT Enterprise, Copilot, Glean, and Shelf.
  • Drive document automation and multilingual NLP (summarization, translation, NER).
  • Implement observability, governance, and responsible AI practices in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with IT, data, compliance, and business leaders to deliver business-facing solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years in software engineering or data science, with 1+ year in GenAI/LLM/Agentic AI.
  • Proficiency in Python, REST APIs, React/Node.js, and cloud-native infrastructure (Docker, CI/CD).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS AI services (Bedrock, SageMaker, Textract, Translate, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, and tool use.
  • Proven ability to prototype, iterate, and scale AI-enabled features.
  • Familiarity with compliance/regulatory needs in insurance or financial services (preferred).
  • AI-first developer mindset: using AI for scaffolding, testing, and refactoring code.
