Senior Hardware Network Fabric Development Engineer

This role is onsite, primarily working from an HPE office. The Hardware Fabric Signal engineer will use sophisticated simulation tools and laboratory measurement to design, simulate, validate, debug, and optimize high‑performance electrical systems. The engineer works with a diverse team supporting the design, validation, scaling, deployment, and support of industry‑leading supercomputer systems. A curious mind and attention to detail are key to success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Design and assess industry‑leading 100+ gigabit/s electrical and optical links and memory interface channels.
  • Create simulation models, plan and execute simulation suites.
  • Correlate models to measured laboratory results.
  • Create PCB signal integrity design rules, stackup, and connector pinout recommendations.
  • Track and drive the resolution of electrical issues, execute hands‑on testing and debugging to root cause.
  • Create documentation, test plans, and test reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience in high‑performance electrical design.
  • Experience with Ethernet or InfiniBand components and systems, and key performance metrics.
  • Experience with signal integrity.
  • RF and microwave design experience preferred.
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools such as HFSS highly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience using electrical design tools and software packages such as Ansoft, HFSS, Allegro.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity design concepts.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in at least one common scripting language (e.g., Perl, Bash, Python).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range

United States: Annual salary USD 119,500 - 275,000 (in Texas & Wisconsin). The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered.
