Business Analyst (statistical and mathematical) Location: Columbia, SC Interview Process: 1 round, Virtual/Online Duration: 12 Months Employment Type: Contract Experience Required: 08+ Years Candidate Location: Candidate must be a CURRENT SC resident. No relocation allowed. Project Scope: SCDHHS is seeking a Business Analyst-Intermediate to support Managed Care oversight initiatives.

The role involves gathering program requirements, developing monitoring and tracking templates, creating policies and procedures, performing data analysis and visualization, and generating recurring reports to support leadership decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Gather business and program requirements for reporting and monitoring activities Conduct data analysis using trend analysis, outlier identification, and validation techniques Analyze grievance, appeals, service authorization, disputes, and contract monitoring data Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to data governance and reporting Create reports and dashboards for Bureau and Agency leadership Perform data quality verification and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders Collaborate with internal teams including IT, Managed Care, and external stakeholders Support process improvement initiatives and strategic projects Prepare and present analytical reports and recommendations Participate in professional development and training activities Required Skills & Experience: Strong knowledge of research design, data collection, manipulation, and analysis Experience with SAS, Excel, Python, and data analysis/reporting tools Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets using statistical techniques Experience preparing reports and presenting analytical findings Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills Ability to predict trends and support data-driven decision making Preferred Skills: Experience with Medicaid or federal/state healthcare data systems Experience with HRSA, HHS, Census, or related health data systems Experience with data visualization and statistical analysis tools Education: Master's Degree in Data Science, Public Health, Statistics, Health Informatics, or related field
