Job description

As a Data Scientist on the Data Team, you will help build a data-driven culture within Databricks by solving product and business challenges.

Impact you will have
  • Shape the direction of key data science areas for 2020 โ€“ usage forecasting, product analytics, user behavior, and funnel analysis.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success and other stakeholders to understand product usage patterns and trends and to make data-driven decisions and forecasts.
  • Manage stakeholders for their focus area โ€“ gather changing requirements, define project OKRs and milestones, and communicate progress and results to a nonโ€‘technical audience.
  • Mentor and guide dataโ€‘scientists on the team on project planning, technical decisions, and code and document review.
  • Build selfโ€‘serving internal data products to make data simple within the company.

  • Experience in applying Data Science / ML in production to build dataโ€‘driven products for solving business problems.
  • Familiarity with Product Analytics โ€“ understanding and tracking customer and user behavior using lenses such as adoption, churn, cohorts, and funnel analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders across business functions, especially Product, Customer Success, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Strong coding skills in a generalโ€‘purpose language like Scala or Python, and familiarity with software engineering principles around testing, code reviews, and deployment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using tools such as R and Python.
  • Experience with distributed data processing systems like Spark and Hadoop, and proficiency in SQL.

Pay range for this role: $123,200 โ€“ $218,000 USD. Total compensation may also include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
