Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented engineer for embedded software testing and automation development. The candidate will also interact with the Global Software development and validation teams. The position will also work closely with Engineering Project Managers to ensure proper test coverage and project deadlines are met. The candidate will also be responsible for bringing optimization into end-to-end testing process. The candidate should be able to understand existing test automation harness and focus on migrating legacy tests towards continuous integration.

Key Responsibilities:

- Contribute to an enthusiastic and talented team of Software Engineers to bring new products and compelling experiences to the market

- Identify system defects and report into tracking system with proper analysis of device level logs

- Develop the test automation framework and/or maintain/enhance existing framework

- Identify the tests impacted with the current sprint release for the regression test runs

- Identify individual group tests required to be executed in trunk branch, run the required test cases, segregate and maintain test results

- Convert the applicable tests to newer automation framework from the backlog of legacy tests

- Automate almost everything that is possible by out of box thinking and optimize the process through innovation

- Enhance processes and DevOps to improve quality and increase efficiency by focusing on continuous improvement

- Create new automated test scripts based on requirements/story or a defect reported outside of automated tests

- Troubleshoot and identify root cause of automated test failure

Qualifications:

- Self-motivated, work well in a team as well as independently.

- Excellent analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrated capability to comprehend large scale system architecture and understand why it should fail or succeed

- Strong experience with one scripting language like Python, Perl or Shell

- Good knowledge on basic Networking (TCP, UDP, Socket programming, web servers, HTTP, discovery protocols)

- Ability to articulate the design ideas and good design/documentation skills

- Good to have exposure to audio, video, streaming protocols

- Comfortable using git/svn source control

- Experience of using at least one unit testing framework (pyUnit, JUnit, NUnit, C/CppUnit, etc.)

- Exposure on at least one Continuous Integration system like Jenkins

- Excellent troubleshooting skills with embedded devices/linux box

- Knowledge of API or Web Services testing

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related equivalent degree, plus 5+ years of experiences. MSCS or MSEE is strongly desirable.
