Job Description:

The Senior Purchasing Manager will lead all procurement activities for a large manufacturing facility, overseeing purchasing operations, supplier relationships, and a team of procurement professionals. This position plays a key role in developing sourcing strategies, optimizing costs, improving supplier performance, and ensuring materials are available to support production demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies that align with operational and business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of buyers and purchasing professionals.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers while negotiating pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement strategies to reduce supply chain risk.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase purchasing efficiency and supplier performance.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive purchasing or supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing procurement teams and supplier relationships.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor development skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
