Dimeo Construction Company is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team in Johnston, RI and help lead procurement activities across our projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong subcontractor relationships, collaborating closely with Estimating and Operations, and supporting successful project outcomes through thoughtful planning, clear communication, and strong risk management.

About the Role

The primary focus of this position is to lead purchasing and procurement efforts for select projects, helping ensure each buyout is well-planned, competitive, aligned with project goals, and executed with strong attention to scope, budget, schedule, and risk.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the purchasing process for select projects, from bid preparation through contract execution.

· Build, strengthen, and maintain trusted subcontractor relationships.

· Partner with Estimating and Operations to align purchasing strategies with project needs.

· Develop and maintain the bid site to support clear communication and efficient bid management.

· Draft detailed trade scopes of work that support accurate pricing and reduce project risk.

· Request, receive, analyze, and manage bids against project budgets.

· Lead descope meetings and support thoughtful decision-making during the buyout process.

· Draft GMP-related purchasing documentation and support cost alignment.

· Prepare and move trade partners through the contracting process.

· Identify and help manage procurement-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.

· Support the team by contributing to a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment.

· Participate in continuous improvement efforts that make Dimeo stronger, more efficient, and better positioned to serve our clients.
