Job description

Urban Ltd provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture, and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
Urban is currently seeking Land Development Senior Project Engineers with 4-7 Years of experience. This role is not construction-focused. Successful candidates would be based in our Annandale or Chantilly, VA office. This position is in-office 5 days a week.
Qualifications of an Ideal Candidate:
  • Must have a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Have an EIT certificate (preferred).
  • Must have experience in designing, preparing, and processing land development applications.
  • Must have experience in Northern Virginia jurisdictions.
  • Should have experience with Commercial, Residential, and Mixed-use projects.
  • Must have the ability to make well-informed design decisions based on their knowledge of civil engineering concepts and locality requirements.
  • Must have proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to make well-informed design decisions based on civil engineering concepts and locality requirements.
  • Understands and actively contributes to the preparation of full sets of construction plans.
  • Must be detail-oriented to ensure excellence across all work products submitted to Project Managers.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Drafting of CAD drawings and details for site and subdivision plans.
  • Site Layout and Utility design
  • Horizontal and vertical design of roadways.
  • Preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Generating hydrologic computations for SWM facilities.
  • Performing pavement design computations.
  • Performing site distance analysis.
  • Preparing site work quantity take-offs.
  • Coordination with internal and external engineers, architects, etc.
