Job description

STV is seeking a Senior Electrical BIM Specialist for our Water Practice to provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship in building information modeling (BIM) for any of our Texas locations. The ideal candidate will have the technical acumen and managerial skills to facilitate smooth design, coordination, and construction workflows while optimizing project quality and productivity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Createandmanagedetailed electrical 3D BIM models, ensuring they are accurate and up to date throughout the project life cycle.

  • Collaborate with technical and design teams to develop, implement, and maintain company-wide BIM standards, procedures, and protocols.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary BIM coordination meetings and facilitate resolution of complex design and coordination issues.

  • Provide hands-on support for BIM software suite, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal performance.

  • Manage and oversee the creation and maintenance of the enterprise digital design library, including families, templates, and Dynamo scripts.

  • Evaluate project deliverables for compliance with BIM execution plans, standards, and client requirements.

  • Interface directly with clients to define BIM deliverables, ensuring projects are executed as per agreed-upon BIM protocols.

  • Promote continuous improvement by leveraging analytics to derive insights from project metrics.

  • Train and mentor project teams in BIM best practices through both informal and formal learning sessions.

  • Remain abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending tools and methodologies to further advance our BIM capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher education

  • 10+ years of AEC industry experience with a strong focus on BIM for electrical engineering and process mechanical design.

  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.

  • Demonstrated passion for mentoring junior staff and leading a team of specialists.

Preferred but not Required:

  • Experience with Plant3D or OpenPlant/OpenBuildings Designer Worksuite.

  • Professional Certification in BIM Management.

  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and estimating practices.

Compensation Range:

$83,978.91 - $95,975.90
