Job description

MissionHires is hiring a full-time Senior Project Engineer or Registered Architect to lead building envelope consulting projects. This role oversees project managers, conducts forensic investigations, performs peer reviews, leads design and specifications for repairs/replacements, manages bidding and construction phases, and oversees field performance testing. Ideal candidates have 7+ years of building envelope experience, are licensed (PE or RA), proficient in AutoCAD/Bluebeam and Microsoft Office, and comfortable as the primary client‑facing lead across new construction and remediation projects. Competitive salary ($120k–$180k), 30 days PTO, employer‑paid health coverage, bonuses up to 30%, and reimbursable expenses.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise Senior Project Managers and Project Managers
  • Lead and supervise investigative surveys of roofing, glazing, and waterproofing systems to identify deterioration and water intrusion sources
  • Review and approve investigation reports, including findings, recommendations, and cost estimates
  • Conduct peer reviews of drawings and specifications for new construction; provide redline markups and lead client meetings with follow‑up action items
  • Lead and coordinate design of building envelope repair and replacement projects (plans, elevations, details)
  • Generate and review technical specifications in Microsoft Word
  • Provide bid‑phase support, lead/attend pre‑bid meetings, and produce meeting minutes
  • Oversee construction phase services: lead/attend pre‑construction and progress meetings, perform site visits, and produce observation reports
  • Lead meetings on field performance testing for building envelope systems; supervise testing teams
  • Participate in company‑sponsored professional development and educational seminars
  • Ensure quality control, documentation accuracy, and adherence to project budgets and schedules
  • Serve as primary client point of contact for assigned projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction‑related field (4‑year)
  • Professional licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
  • Minimum 7 years of building envelope consulting experience
  • Demonstrated experience as primary point of contact performing peer reviews for new construction projects
  • Proven capability as lead designer for roof replacement and window/wall repair projects
  • Strong construction phase project management experience on new construction and repair projects
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong technical writing skills for reports, specifications, and meeting documentation
  • Excellent client communication and meeting facilitation skills
  • Ability to supervise teams performing investigations, testing, and construction‑phase services
  • Willingness to perform site visits and oversee field testing as needed
  • Preferred certifications (optional but encouraged): IIBEC RRC/RRO, REWC/REWO, RWC/RWO
  • Ability to work full‑time (40+ hours/week) with occasional travel for project needs
Benefits
  • Base Pay: Ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on candidate experience, certifications, and skills.
  • Paid Time Off: 30 days in each calendar year, including 8 holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) and 22 vacation/personal days.
  • Health Coverage: Employer‑sponsored health coverage through the Blue Choice PPO Network (BlueCross BlueShield). Employee premiums for all coverage levels will be 100% paid by company. A group dental plan is available for an additional cost.
  • Bonuses: Annual bonuses based on individual and company performance, up to a maximum of 30 percent of the Base Salary.
