Wolfgang Confectioners is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer - Packaging to help our talented production team and ensure our products are packaged safely, efficiently and up to our high-quality standards. This role is critical in supporting our company's growth objectives by ensuring project completion while achieving on-time, on-budget deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and management of projects, including, but not limited to, defining the scope, charter, schedule, and development of capital budgets.
  • Develop and update packing line process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's).
  • Evaluation and definition of packing requirements and subsequent equipment selection.
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Development of scope of work documents and review of competitive bids.
  • Directly manage contractors to ensure workplace safety, food safety, and design compliance.
  • Support project deliverables and completion.
  • Reviews, approves, and documents packaging die lines and material specifications.

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in packaging engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of food related packaging engineering experience is required.
  • Demonstrated successful execution of packaging projects ranging from $100k to $5MM.
  • Expertise in common food packaging including VFFS, HFFS, and flow wrapping.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of secondary packing automation to include case packing and palletizing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sanitary design, SQF and food safety design and installation requirements.
  • Familiarity with common packaging equipment cleaning methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that show the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of an organization.
  • Supporter and driver of safety culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with integrity and uphold company's core values and mission.
