The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager - Substation & Transmission Line to join our Project Management Office.

In this role, you will lead the successful delivery of transmission line and substation engineering projects, overseeing all aspects of project execution from initiation through completion while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients across North America. #phasorinclusive

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with travel to project sites as required.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of transmission line and substation engineering projects
  • Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, financial performance, and overall project controls throughout the project lifecycle
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships through regular communication and project updates
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, drafting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and field services
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and scheduling conflicts, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate project meetings while coordinating project documentation, change management, technical deliverables, and reporting
  • Track project financials, including forecasting, purchase orders, invoicing support, and contract administration
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with client requirements, engineering standards, and Phasor's Quality Management System
  • Support proposal development, business development initiatives, continuous improvement, and mentor project team members as required
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with a Canadian provincial engineering association
  • 8+ years of project management experience within engineering consulting, utilities, EPC, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience managing transmission line, substation, or other utility infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, risk management, and project controls
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling software is considered an asset
  • PMP certification, experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, and familiarity with North American EPC, transmission, or utility projects are considered assets
