Job description

Facilities and Project Engineer

Summary

Develops and implements optimal, cost effective manufacturing operations and capital projects in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.  Works closely with R&D Personnel, Quality Assurance, Engineering Manager and Senior API Engineers to ensure accuracy of design.  Attention to detail is paramount.  Assist in the design of chemical unit operations and management of plant utilities.   Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.  Is accountable for all facets of project including budget and employee safety.

Job Duties

  1. Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including the essential assembly methods and production equipment.
  2. Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
  3. Manages each assigned and approved project such that it is completed in a timely and efficient manner and on budget, while ensuring that all details have been completed.
  4. Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  5. Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
  6. Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
  7. Monitors the activities of all contract or staff employees completing project work to insure optimal performance while insuring all safety and engineering standards are adhered to.
  8. Manages maintenance, repairs, and replacement of plant utility systems such as: boilers, chillers, HVAC, air compressors, RO water systems, etc.
  9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  1. BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  2. Five (5) years experience in engineering project management and facilities management (boiler, chillers, HVAC, air compressors, buildings, etc.)
  3. Experience working with contractors.

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $101,000 to $112,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.

The compensation and benefits described above are subject to the terms and conditions of any governing plans, policies, practices, agreements, or other materials or documents as in effect from time to time, including but not limited to terms and conditions regarding eligibility. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company, or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
