Job description

We are looking for an experienced and highly adaptable Senior Project Engineer to provide technical support across our development portfolio. This cross-functional position combines engineering, interconnection, permitting, project coordination, and technical due diligence, depending on the needs of each project.

Interconnection Support
  • Supporting utility interconnection applications and queue management.
  • Assisting with Generator Interconnection Agreements (GIAs) and Engineering & Procurement agreements.
  • Reviewing utility comments and coordinating technical responses with utilities and transmission providers.
  • Tracking interconnection schedules, milestones, technical risks, and commissioning readiness activities.
Project Engineering and Development Support
  • Coordinating engineering activities across utility-scale solar, BESS, and hybrid projects.
  • Supporting the preparation of Basis of Design documentation and engineering scopes of work.
  • Coordinating Owner's Engineer activities, design reviews, EPC interfaces, and engineering deliverables.
  • Conducting technical due diligence for development, acquisition, and repowering opportunities.
Permitting Support
  • Providing technical input for federal, state, county, and environmental permitting processes.
  • Coordinating technical studies and engineering responses to agency comments.
  • Supporting agency coordination and monitoring permitting schedules.
Project Coordination
  • Working closely with Senior Project Managers to track critical paths, action items, engineering schedules, and design packages.
  • Coordinating activities across internal teams, consultants, EPC contractors, utilities, and Owner's Engineers.
  • Identifying, monitoring, and supporting the mitigation of technical and development risks.
Technical Analysis
  • Supporting PV layout optimization and preliminary electrical design.
  • Contributing to battery system integration and hybrid project evaluations.
  • Reviewing energy yield assessments and transmission studies.
  • Supporting CAPEX reviews, technical-commercial due diligence, and development risk assessments.

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in utility-scale renewable energy.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale solar, BESS, or hybrid projects.
  • Strong understanding of the renewable energy project development lifecycle.
