  • Coordinate with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into design.
  • Coordinate and monitor the work of staff; monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure product quality aligns with Stantec standards and provide technical support where necessary.
  • Act as supervisor and resource to the technical design team; support and assist staff education and development.
  • Assist the Practice Leader in marketing and business development for the group and coordinate with corporate marketing.
  • Perform employee annual performance reviews and quarterly check-ins for direct reports. Document discussions and goal progress. Review competencies and areas for improvement.
  • Incorporate objectives of employees' career development plans into team assignments.
  • Mentor employees to advance technical skills, project management, and people skills; ensure work meets or exceeds Stantec standards.
  • Manage Stantec’s technical project process and scope within own discipline; review schedule and budgeted hours and resolve inconsistencies with the project manager.
  • Link project profitability to daily tasks of direct reports.
  • Assist with utilization targets of direct reports (project work or alignment with corporate or business unit initiatives).
  • Ensure employees adhere to and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the engineering/professional community to build knowledge and professional growth (e.g., attend meetings, seminars, conferences, or write articles for trade magazines).
Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong technical and analytical skills and experience.
  • Proficient in applicable software (e.g., Revit and CAD).
  • Strong communicator who effectively conveys scope, schedule, and budget to clients, co-workers, and technical teams (e.g., work plan, statement of work, and two-way communication).
  • Adept at writing comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and collaborative.
