Job description


Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking a detail-oriented Project Controls Manager with an exceptional background in scheduling to join our Houston Westchase office! This is a prime opportunity to leverage your expertise on challenging, high-profile projects for well-known industry clients within our dynamic Engineering group.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct schedule analytics to assess schedule quality, determine and report on project progress, and monitor contractor compliance with schedule-related contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with project management to identify, characterize, document, and register project risks, and develop formal mitigation plans per established standards.
  • Collaborate with cost analysts to prepare, maintain, and issue required cost reports and financial forecasts.
  • Assist in the analysis, optimization, and reporting of the corporate project portfolio, including risk assessments relative to multi-year budget plans.
  • Manage and provide data for all project reporting, including required regulatory reporting.
  • Implement and enforce all project controls standards concerning cost, schedule, scope, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and risk/issues management for assigned projects.
  • Conduct independent project assessments to ensure project compliance and internal management standards.
  • Verify that contract agreements incorporate necessary project controls requirements and ensure contractors implement controls in strict alignment with those requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management (or related field) OR 8 years equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree in addition to required years of experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Project Controls scheduling, cost, estimating or planning. Oil & Gas and Engineering project experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based analytics.
  • Knowledge of project and construction management fundamentals.
