Senior Project Engineer

Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join us as part of the P-8 program supporting the Systems Engineering organization located in Richardson, TX.

The Sr. Project Engineer will support the SEIT leadership team in developing, tracking and executing efforts across the program portfolio. He/She will also support the Senior SEIT manager in management and oversight of new business efforts and initiatives. The Sr. Project Engineer will have the opportunity to interface directly with senior leadership and will make an impact at a program level.This role will be performed utilizing a cross-functional Agile framework.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead complex projects from kick-off to completion.

  • Lead, plan, identify and coordinate multiple skilled resources required over the life of the project

  • Break statement of work down into executable tasks

  • Compare actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiency, productivity, lessons learned and performance metrics.

  • Interpret, analyze and organize complex technical problems, concepts and solutions across multiple disciplines and levels of management

  • Identify and capture changes to statement of work.

  • Identify corrective actions to improve project or team performance.

  • Exhibit excellent technical, written and verbal communication skills.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team or projects

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • 10+ years of experience leading a teams or projects

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Experience working across a team representing multiple skill areas with internal and external resources and customers is preferred

  • Experience with Agile/JIRA

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
