Senior Project Manager
Chicago, IL – Fully Onsite

(CHIN) is seeking a dedicated Senior Project Manager/Resident Engineer to lead the delivery of roadway improvement projects and assist in the management of transportation engineering objectives. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, is highly motivated, and committed to ensuring successful project delivery. The Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in representing CHIN across all construction management related matters.
Job Duties:
  • Oversee construction oversight efforts to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule and enforces contractor compliance from pre- construction to completion
  • Serves as a representative of the company and its clients at meetings, presentations, and public hearings relative to assigned projects.
  • Provides leadership and oversight to a CM team ensuring project specifications are being followed.
  • Timely processing of pay estimates and authorizations, and the satisfactory completion of inspectors IDRs and contractor activities.
  • Ensure accurate field records are being maintained, such as daily reports, test reports, and as-built drawings.
  • Oversees post-construction phase, final deliverables, reviewing final pay request and punch lists, coordinating final acceptance inspections, tracking of warranties, and preparation of final invoicing.
  • Full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating construction engineering assignments.
  • Acts as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, techniques, and procedures for an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Analyzes complex construction/design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures and consults with design engineering personnel.
  • Participate in marketing and proposal preparation.
  • Prepare and approve scope of work and costing documents for proposals.
  • Coordinate with other senior engineering staff, lead junior team members, project stakeholders, and other disciplines to manage an organized approach to project execution.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs including business cultivation strategies and efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • 15 years of Transportation Construction management experience.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE)
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Bluebeam, SiteManager, Headlight, or other construction documentation software.)
  • Experience with IDOT Standard Specifications, Standard Plans, and Construction Contract Administration Manual.
  • Knowledge of project management software Ebuilder amp; CMMS
  • IDOT and Tollway experience a plus.
