We're looking to grow our Duck Technology Team at NLS!

As a Senior Developer – Billing, you'll play a critical role in developing and supporting custom applications that power Duck Creek Billing products and services. You'll leverage Duck Creek proprietary tools, industry-standard development practices, and modern technologies to deliver solutions that help our clients achieve their business goals.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside Analysts, Technology Architects, Business SMEs, and Project Leadership while helping shape technical solutions, solve complex business challenges, and mentor fellow developers. What You’ll Do:
  • Lead client interactions by clarifying needs, managing expectations, and ensuring solutions align with business goals while leveraging tools and technology, including AI, to improve team efficiency and decision-making.

  • Work with clients and team members to understand and interpret business requirements.

  • Develop custom Duck Creek solutions via ManuScript configuration.

  • Execute SQL-based queries to support development and troubleshooting efforts.

  • Assist project teams in planning and designing future-state solutions that align with client functional and technical strategies.

  • Take ownership of customer issues and drive them through successful resolution.

  • Teach and mentor development team members on all aspects of the Duck Creek platform.

  • Utilize your thorough understanding of Duck Creek Billing products, including Author, Express, Server, User Admin, Billing, and Billing Integration.

  • Collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that meet client needs.

What You’ll Bring:
  • 5+ years of industry experience or equivalent training.

  • 3+ years of experience working with Duck Creek product lines and development toolsets.

  • Thorough understanding of Duck Creek ManuScript components and the ability to translate business requirements into ManuScript inheritance structures and technical designs.

  • Hands-on experience with Duck Creek Author, including Fields, Pages, Forms, and Tables.

  • Experience with Duck Creek debugging tools including TraceMonitor, ExampleUtil (including TSV), Data Tester, and Processing Exceptions.

  • Experience working with multiple Duck Creek product versions.

  • Experience using Duck Creek Skins.

  • Experience using C#-based custom business objects.

  • Experience using Duck Creek APIs.

  • Experience using Duck Creek Anywhere.

  • Experience with SOAP and REST APIs.

  • Hands-on experience with XML or similar programming languages.

  • Experience with SQL Server, Stored Procedures, Triggers, User Defined Functions/Types, Cursors, and XQueries.

  • Experience with Billing Services, including Scheduled Activities and Async Queue.

  • Full knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, including Agile environments.

  • Microsoft 365 experience required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Highly motivated, self-starter mindset with a collaborative approach.
